A light industrial building overlooking Empire Boulevard is due to be complete in March, said Mike Rodgers, project manager for general contractor CS Construction.
The 8,000 square-foot building is at 63052 Layton Ave., across from Wubba’s BBQ Shack. There are four tenant spaces, and Compass Commercial Real Estate Services is in the process of leasing the largest space, 2,700 square feet, to a local company that wanted a more efficient location, Compass partner Erich Schultz said.
With high visibility along Empire, Schultz hopes to attract “companies that manufacture or assemble products and maybe sell a little out their front door as well,” such as a small brewpub with a tasting room.
This is the first Central Oregon real estate project for the property owner, the Willis R. Brown Trust of the Seattle area, Schultz said. The trust has owned the property since 2013, Deschutes County records show.
Parking is located behind the building, which features 12-by-12 roll-up doors. The building is constructed with a concrete masonry and a metal exterior, Rodgers said.
