• As Bend grows, the city gains more highly anticipated brands
In 2007, The Bulletin surveyed readers about which retail chains they wanted to see in Central Oregon. Several of the most-desired chains still aren’t here, so we compiled a list of local alternatives to check out while you wait:
In-N-Out? Try Dandy’s Drive-In on NE Third Street for burgers without leaving your car and tater tots highly recommended by a Bend native and Bulletin staff member, or Pilot Butte Drive-In.
Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack? Try North Soles Footwear on NW Wall Street or Desperado in the Old Mill District.
Crate & Barrel? Try Lark Mountain Modern on NW Wall Street, Bend Furniture & Design on Galveston Avenue or Furnish on Arizona Avenue.
Pottery Barn? Try Lone Crow Bungalow, NW Home Interiors or Haven Homestyle.
P.F. Chang’s? Try Chi Chinese & Sushi Bar on NW Newport Avenue.
The Cheesecake Factory? There’s no replicating that menu, but for cheesecake alone, try La Magie Bakery and Cafe on NW Bond Street, or Market of Choice.
